How to Purchase Standards on Intertek Inform

Intertek Inform makes it simple to request a quotation, place an order, and manage payments for Standards. Whether you’re budgeting for future projects or ready to buy immediately, the process is clear and secure. 

Note: You must have a registered Intertek Inform account to request quotes, manage orders, and access purchased Standards. 

Follow these steps to generate a formal quote (valid for 30 days): 

  1. Log in to your Account – access to quotes and orders requires registration. 
  2. Search for your Standard – use quick search, advanced filters, or browse by industry. 
  3. Open the Product Page – click on the Standard in your results. 
  4. Select Format and Quantity – choose from PDF or Hardcopy.  
    • Note: Quantity selection does not apply to PDF 1-User licenses. 
  5. Agree to DRM License Rules – required for all PDF formats.  
    • Not applicable for Hardcopy orders. 
  6. Add to Cart and Continue – review your selection. 
  7. Save as Quote – from your cart, choose Save item in Cart as Quote. 
  8. Receive Quote Number – a unique quote number is generated, valid for 30 days. You can retrieve it anytime via My Account. 
  9. Convert to Order – when ready, convert your saved quote into a live order and proceed to checkout. 

When you’re ready to buy, follow this order process: 

  1. Log in to your Account. 
  2. Find Your Standard – search and open the product page. 
  3. Select Format and Quantity – choose PDF or Hardcopy.  
    1. PDF 1-User format does not support multiple quantities. 
  4. Agree to DRM Licence Rules – required for all PDF formats. 
  5. Proceed to Checkout: 
    1. Add to Cart: Add items and select Proceed to Checkout. 
  6. Review Checkout Page: 
    1. Billing & Watermarking Information – ensure details are correct. PDF files will be watermarked with purchaser details. 
    2. Order Summary – verify your selections. 
    3. Payment Method – choose your preferred payment option. 
  7. Order Confirmation & Access: 
    1. Receive confirmation via email. 
    2. Download PDF instantly or access via Collections in your account. 

To protect copyright and confirm licence ownership, all PDF purchases are watermarked. 

  • Each page includes: 
    • Purchaser’s name and download date 
    • Licensee (Purchaser and/or Company Name) 
    • User email address (for printing or viewing) 
  • Watermark text: “Copyrighted material licensed to [Company Name] for the purchaser… No further reproduction or distribution permitted.” 
  • PDF 1-User and Multi-User formats also display “Internal Use Only.” 

Intertek Inform supports multiple payment options: 

  • Credit/Debit Card – Mastercard, Visa, JCB, AMEX 
    • Surcharges apply: 
      • 1.45% for Mastercard, Visa & JCB 
      • 1.75% for AMEX 
      • 2.90% for International cards 
  • Customer Credit Account – 30-day credit facility (available for Australian customers only). Contact support to apply. 
  • Google Pay – fast checkout option. 

Scenario: You’re purchasing a PDF Standard using a Mastercard. 

Question: What important detail should you know about payment, and what information will appear on your PDF watermark? 

Correct Answer: A 1.45% surcharge applies to Mastercard payments. The watermark will include your name, download date, company/purchaser details, and the email of the user accessing the file.
