This specification prescribes safety requirements for electrically-heated blankets for domestic and similar purposes, which are intended for electrical operation by direct or alternating current. This specification applies to blankets which may be connected to an isolating transformer and to the transformer itelf. It does not apply to electric heating pads, which are covered by AS C149, or to electrically-heated mattresses.
