This specification prescribes safety requirements for electrically-heated blankets, including mattress overlays (under-blankets) for connection to low and extra-low voltage supply. The specification applies to blankets which may be connected to a transformer and to the transformer itself. It does not apply to electric heating pads, which are covered by AS C149, or to electrically-heated mattressses.
