Provides guidelines for the painting of buildings for domestic, commercial and industrial use. Discusses different material surfaces, the preparation of unpainted and prepainted surfaces and gives recommendations for painting systems.

This standard provides a guide to procedures for the painting of buildings for general domestic, commercial and industrial use.NOTES:1 Appendix A provides recommendations for a check list for the preparation of a painting system specification applicable to new surfaces.2 Appendix B provides recommendations for a check list for the preparation of a maintenance painting specification applicable to previously painted surfaces.3 Appendix C provides recommendations on inspection and testing.4 Appendix D provides a table of equivalent paint specifications that are listed in various documents.
