This Standard specifies the requirements for the design, construction, and testing of light hand hammers intended for striking of wood, metal, concrete, masonry, or stone, and for singlehanded use. General requirements for hand hammers are specified in AS 3797.1.Designs and nomenclature of light hand hammers are given in Appendix A.NOTE: Guidance on the safe use of light hand hammers is given in Appendix B.
