This Standard sets out requirements for single-use absorbent woven gauze swabs for surgical use. It applies to sterile and non-sterile swabs and swabs that incorporate X-ray detectable markers.NOTE: This Standard is not applicable to 'dissecting swabs' such as 'cherries', 'peanuts' and 'patties'.
