This specification applies to the basic dimensions for printed wiring used in telecommunication and allied electronic equipment. It does not apply to strip lines for microwave techniques, or to printed circuits other than in respect of printed wiring forming part of a printed circuit. Recommendations on those dimensional aspects of printed wiring for which, in view of the comparatively early stage of development, it is considered unwise to specify rigid requirements are given in Appendix A, which includes also recommendations relating to components for use with printed wiring.
