1.1This specification covers raw or calcined natural pozzolan, for use in concrete where pozzolanic action is desired, or where other properties normally attributed to natural pozzolans may be desired, or where both objectives are to be achieved.
Note 1:Historically, natural pozzolans have been referred to as Class N material in Specification C618 and in other specifications referencing Specification C618. Specification C1945 provides limits that differ from those in Specification C618 and also specifies tests and limits not included in Specification C618.
1.2The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
1.3The text of this standard refers to notes and footnotes that provide explanatory information. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the standard.
