This Australian Technical Specification sets out requirements for a metallic bodied safety shut valve for use in hot- and cold-water applications where the maximum operating pressure does not exceed 1400 kPa and the maximum temperature does not exceed 85C. Flood stop safety valves are normally used as a safety shut-off to prevent the flooding of dwellings in the event of the failure of an end-of-line fitting.
