Proposes design requirements for access covers and grates for use in vehicular and pedestrian areas. The Standard applies to access covers and grates having openings in the range 100 mm to 1300 mm, and components manufactured from grey and ductile irons, cast and rolled steels. It does not preclude the use of other material. Purchasing guidelines and means for demonstrating compliance for quality control purposes are also provided. The Standard is intended for use by designers, purchasers, manufacturers and installers of access covers and grates.
