This Standard specifies requirements for central venous catheters supplied in the sterile condition, which are intended for single use for the purpose of injecting a drug, collecting blood and/or measuring venous pressure, etc., and guide wire, dilator, puncture needle, mantle tube and sheathe for insertion of catheters which are used for insertion and placement of catheters.
