Provides a method for determining the loss on ignition of glass reinforced plastics for materials containing only glass and a combustible resin (under the conditions of this test method), loss on ignition is equal to the resin content and the glass content calculated by difference. Only allows determining of the ash by difference for products containing non-combustible mineral fillers, other than glass reinforcement, or incompletely combustible resins (under the conditions of this test method), which can be recognized or verified by examination of the residue after ignition.
