Proposes a set of statements that define the performance requirements of a septic tank and which will provide a base against which any septic tank, conventional or innovative, may be assessed. In addition, basic specifications are provided which manufacturers of conventional septic tanks systems made of various materials, and quality assessors will be able to use in order to demonstrate compliance of a product with the Standard. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
