Sets out a gravimetric method for the determination of silicon in aluminium and aluminium alloys. The method is applicable to all levels of silicon and includes modifications for determining silicon in aluminium alloys containing tin or antimony, and in aluminium-magnesium and aluminium-silicon alloys.
