Defines Bellcore's view of the functional design criteria, mechanical and electrical requirements, and test methods for public telephone handsets equipped with a carbon type transmitter. It is intended to be used with a 4293N or an equivalent network in coin operated telephone sets. The public telephone handset is intended for use in existing coin telephone sets.
