This document covers basic requirements for HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filter units as a basic for agreement between buyer and seller. Filters that meet the requirements of this practice are suitable for use in clean air devices and clean rooms that come within the scope of FED STD 209B and for use in supply, air and contaminated exhaust systems where extremely high collection efficiency (99.97% or higher) for submicrometer particles is required.
