AS 2917.2-1994 identically adopts ISO 10378:1994, which specifies a fire assay gravimetric and atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of gold and silver contents in copper sulfide concentrates containing 15% (m/m) to 60 % (m/m) copper, mainly in the form of chalcopyrite and related sulfide minerals.

This InternationalStandard specifies a fire assay gravimetric and atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of gold and silver contents in copper sulfide concentrates containing 15% (m/m) to 60 % (m/m) copper, mainly in the form of chalcopyrite and related sulfide minerals. The method is applicable to gold contents from 0,5 g/t to 300 g/t and silver contents from 25 g/t to 1 500 g/t.
