This specification prescribes safety requirements for electrically-heated blankets, including underblankets (mattress overlays) and overblankets for connection to low and extra-low voltage supply. Th specification applies to blankets which may be connected to a transformer and to the transformer itself. It does not apply to electric heating pads which are coveed by AS C149, or to electrically-heated mattresses.
