Itspecifiesrequirementsforthefollowingtypesofcable: singlephaseor3-phase; strandedcopperorsolidaluminiumconductors; XLPEinsulationandthermoplasticoversheathwithlowemissionofsmoke andcorrosivegaseswhenaffectedbyfire. ThissectionofBS7870isapplicabletocablesthataredesignedforamaximum continuousconductoroperatingtemperatureof90°Candforamaximumshort circuitconductortemperatureof250°C.
