This standard applies to capacitor units and banks for outdoor use, primarily for power factor correction in induction heat generation, melting, welding, or casting installations, and similar applications, supplied by a controlled or adjustable alternating voltage with a frequency range up to 50 Hz and a rated voltage not exceeding 3.6 kV.
