Specifies requirements for GO and NOT GO plug gauges to be used for gauging plan workpieces and (the minor diameter of) internal screw threads. Gauges with a gauging member with spherical end faces should preferably be used as NOT GO gauges, in accordance with the Taylor principle. Plug gauges with a cylindrical NOT GO gauging member are only suitable for gauging thin-walled, and hence easily distorted, components, for gauging short holes and for gauging internal screw threads.
