Applies in conjunction with DIN 28600 to ductile iron pressure pipes from DN 80 to DN 400 having screwed socket joints (as in DIN 28601 parts 1 to 3), and to pipes from DN 500 to DN 600 with mechanical joints (as in DIN 28602 parts 1 to 3). Push-in joints (as in DIN 28603) may also be used for pipes from DN 80 to DN 600. The pipes are designed for use as gas lines operating at pressures of 4-16 bar; permissible values for depths of cover and imposed load are tabulated for laying such pipes underground.
