Diese Norm gilt für Klauenkupplungen ohne Sicherungsmutter mit 42 mm Klauenabstand, Aussengewinde-,Innengewinde- und Schlauchkupplung, Verschlusskupplung, drehbare Klauenkupplung für allgemeine Druckluftsysteme. Schläuche sind z. B. nach DIN 20018-1, Einbindung z. B. mit Klemmen oder ähnlichem. Klauenkupplungen mit Sicherungsmutter sind in DIN 3238 festgelegt.
