Diese Norm legt Anforderungen an ein Reduktionsmittel fest, das für den Einsatz von SCR-Katalysatoren (Selective Catalytic Reduction) in Kraftfahrzeugen mit Dieselmotoren erforderlich ist. SCR-Katalysatoren sind besonders geeignet für eine gezielte Verringerung der Stickoxidemissionen (NO[x]) von Dieselmotoren.
