Diese Technische Spezifikation beschreibt für die Grade 1 bis 4 (siehe EN 50131-1) exklusiv oder nicht exklusiv verdrahtete oder drahtlose Passiv-Infrarotmelder und deckt die Umweltklassen I bis III (siehe EN 50130-5) ab.Eine Funktion, die in dieser Spezifikation nicht verlangt wird, kann vom Hersteller zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Diese Funktion wird bei Vorhandensein geprüft und muss alle relevanten Anforderungen an den höheren Grad erfüllen. Bei positivem Prüfergebnis kann der Hersteller diese Funktion, die den Gesamtgrad des Melders nicht verändert, als besondere Eigenschaft geltend machen.
