Proposes the adoption of IEC 1050:1991, which specifies general and safety requirements for single-phase transformers with separate input and output windings, for use on a.c. supply up to 1000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. These transformers are intended to supply and stabilize cold cathode tubular lamps having a no-load rated output voltage exceeding 1000 V but not exceeding 10 000 V and intended for lighting and for electric advertising signs and similar purposes. It does not cover auto-transformers. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard. A copy of IEC 1050:1991 may be purchased from, or viewed at, any Standards Australia or Standards New Zealand office.
