Applies to screwless terminals which permit the connection and subsequent disconnection of rigid (solid or stranded) copper conductors and flexible cables or cords with a nominal cross sectional area not exceeding 16mm squared: - either by simple insertion for rigid conductors; - or by a specified opening action and clamping by means other than screws or nuts, with special preparation of the conductors concerned. Primarily applicable to terminals intended for the connection of external conductors, may serve as a guide where terminals of accessories have other functions, for example, switches, sockets etc., and where screwless terminals may also be used for internal connections of appliances.
