This standard prescribes the requirements of the following types of tarred ropes: a) Hawser-laid (three-strand) tarred sisal ropes of diameter 8 mm to 129 mm and with a linear density from 64 ktex to 14 100 ktex; and b) Cable-laid (nine-strand) tarred sisal ropes of diameter 48 mm to 145 mm and with a linear density from 1 859 ktex to 16 909 ktex.
