This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the methods of measurement of core loss characteristics, a.c. magnetizing characteristics and apparent power characteristics of magnetic steel sheets at power frequency by means of a single sheet tester based on H coil method or exciting current method. The magnetic flux density applicable for measurements of core loss characteristics and apparent power characteristics shall be 1.0 T to 1.8 T for grain oriented magnetic steel sheets and 0.8 T to 1.5 T for non-oriented magnetic steel sheets. The applicable magnetic field in the measurement of a.c. magnetizing characteristics shall not exceed 5000 A/m.
