This specification covers a carrier for a ceramic body armor insert to be worn by aircrew personnel. The carrier is part of an aircrew survival system. This is a special purpose Life Support Clothing and Equipment (LSC&E) item. All Government administrative and surveillance procedures applicable to LSC&E items shall be invoked in accordance with the contract or purchase order (see 6.2).
