This specification covers wrought aluminum alloys AA7017 (class I) and AA7020 (class II) for welded and non-welded applications in nominal thicknesses from 0.500 to 4.000 inch, inclusive (see 6.2). Class I (AA7017) material is a direct replacement for MIL-DTL-46063H w/Amendment 2 material, namely AA7039 for new design and if specified (see 6.2), for old design or repair/replacement.
