Determines the requirements for shipboard solid-state proximity switches. The switches use an inductive sensor for noncontact position sensing of metallic objects and transfer power between a power source and its loads when the switch is actuated.

This specification establishes the requirements for shipboard solid-state proximity switches. The switches use an inductive sensor for noncontact position sensing of metallic objects. The switches transfer power between a power source (see 6.4.13) and its loads when the switch is actuated.
