Deze norm beschrijft een methode voor het plaatsen van peilbuizen en het bepalen van de stijghoogte van het grondwater beneden het freatisch niveau. De norm is bedoeld te worden toegepast voor geohydrologisch onderzoek in de grondlagen beneden het freatisch niveau (=grondwaterstand). In NEN 5766 is vermeld welke voorzieningen er getroffen moeten worden voor het nemen van grondwatermonsters ten behoeve van chemische analyses.
