Diese Norm beschreibt die Grundsätze und das Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Beständigkeit einer organischen Beschichtung auf einem metallischen Substrat gegen eine Kombination von UV-Strahlung und Kondensation von Wasser. Wegen der vielfältigen Bedingungen, die bei der Freibewitterung auftreten können, und der extremen Art der beschleunigten Prüfung kann eine Korrelation zwischen diesen beiden nicht erwartet werden. Nicht alle organischen Beschichtungen verhalten sich gleichartig, und ein gewisser Grad von Korrelation bei Beschichtungen desselben Grundtyps ist möglich.
