Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM legt Sicherheits- und Leistungsanforderungen für Gaskonsolen fest, die für den Gebrauch mit brennbaren Gasen oder Sauerstoff vorgesehen sind. Diese Gaskonsolen werden gebaut, um Gase zur Anwendung beim Schweissen, Plasmaschneiden, Fugenhobeln und für verwandte Prozesse in nicht- explosiver Atmosphäre zu liefern. Die Gaskonsole kann ein Einzelgerät sein, das an eine getrennte Stromquelle angeschlossen ist, oder eine Einheit, die gemeinsam mit der Schweissstromquelle in einem Gehäuse untergebracht ist. Im letzten Fall gilt diese Norm auch für die Stromquelle.
