This standard covers PWT that is based on micro-cellular radio communication system that provides low-power radio (cordless) access between portable parts and (PWT) fixed parts at ranges up to a few hundred meters. The structure of this Standard is based on the layered principles used in the ISO Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. The complete common interface corresponds to the lower 3 layers of the ISO OSI model, but PWT defines 4 layers of protocol. The document is divided into 13 parts.
