Presents Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements for an ISDN Basic Rate Interface verification & testing capability. This verification & testing capability is called Basic Rate Interface Verification (BRIV). The BRIV features in the ISDN Stored Program Control Switching System (SPCS) will be accessible over the BRI access line (2-Digital Subscriber Line [DSL] or 4-wire) at or near the customer premises using appropriate terminal equipment. BRIV provides a useful tool for BRI access line installation & maintenance, interpretability with the embedded base & building blocks.
