Requirements for Dryseal type pipe threads and their gages. These contact at the crest and root to assure metal-to-metal contact with or before flank contact. This prevents spiral leakage allowing joint assembly without using a lubricant or sealer. If not unacceptable lubricants may be used to minimize the possibility of galling in assembly. Coverage includes thread design and thread gaging.
